Gooseberry

Gooseberries are an easy-to-grow soft fruit and they can thrive in many kinds of soil. It only takes a couple of years for them to produce around 2.5kg of fruit per bush

How To Grow

Plant bare-root gooseberries between late autumn and early spring, and container-grown plants at any time. Dig a large hole and fork well-rotted manure into the base. Position the plant with the stem at the same level as the soil, back-fill and firm well. Water well as the berries start to first year.

How/When To Harvesting

Gooseberries will be much sweeter and juicier if they're allowed to ripen fully before harvesting they will be ready for picking from early July.
