Seakale (Crambe)
Sea Kale are easy to grow and are often found growing near the sea on beaches, cliffs and rocks.
How To Grow
Plant thongs in a position in full sun, ensuring the end with the bud is uppermost, and cover the tip with of soil. The best feed is a liquid seaweed fertiliser. Begin forcing it in January by placing a black plastic pot over each plant. Place a piece of black polythene over the drainage holes to exclude all light and then place a heavy object such as a house brick over each pot.
How/When To Harvesting
Cut the blanched shoots cleanly at soil level.
