Swede (Rutabaga/Swedish Turnip)

Swede or Rutabaga is one of the easiest vegetables to grow, the perfect winter vegetable. It is a very versatile vegetable. The leafs can be eaten like spinach. The roots are lovely roasted or boiled, mashed and makes a great addition and flavour to stews.

How To Grow

Sow thinly then thin out the seedlings when large enough to handle, water well.

How/When To Harvesting

Lift roots when large enough to use, although they are frost hardy so are best left in the ground over winter until required.
